How to Develop Your Own Acne Diet
Many people could benefit from an acne diet. We’ve all heard that chocolate gives you pimples. I believe we all have. As a result, it does not seem so far-fetched that what you eat could prevent acne instead of cause it.
However, an acne diet can be a hard thing to develop. This is very personal and its based on your body’s unique response to certain foods. Progress, for the most part, will be trial and error. Make sure you are keeping an eye on your skin. Keep a journal. You could keep a photo journal. If and when your acne diminishes stick to the diet plan you are on at the time.
Here are some guidelines to get you started on an acne diet:
* Take in a lot more protein - Many dermatologists think that protein intake is related to clear skin. They believe this because protein has an enzyme in it that limits oil production. If you have oily skin, you know that it is very vulnerable to breakouts.
* Carbohydrates are not good - You do not need to cut out carbs completely. But you should keep them limited to about 40 percent of your diet. This is because compounds in carbohydrates can stimulate oil production. This is why so many people think that junk food causes acne. Actually, though, junk food is just high in carbs.
* Try to drink green tea - If at all possible try to drink the real stuff. The kind of green tea that you brew is the best kind. But, if you really don’t like it, the natural green tea drinks will work. Green tea holds back androgen production. Breakouts can be caused by the hormone called androgen.
* You must restrict the amount of salt you take in - Iodine is usually found in salt. This is the reason we usually call table salt “iodized salt.” Iodine can be one of the biggest inflammatory agents in people with acne.
It is very important to watch what you eat and put on your face. You should know what ingredients are in your beauty products if you have acne. Use oil free moisturizers and organic skin care products. These are least likely to cause a breakout. Consider switching over to mineral makeup. By using mineral makeup you may actually ease acne problems and increase the results of your acne diet.
